VW’s Pickup Truck Concept
Volkswagen unveiled their pickup truck concept this week, called (possibly) the Robust or just “Pickup.”

VW was originally going to be named “Robust” but that may be a more compact, two-seater (ala Ford Ranger) vehicle. The Pickup is expected to be a full size utility vehicle, capable of carrying four or five passengers and a whole lotta gear in its bed. It’s expected that Pickup’s production model (see below) will debut next week in Germany, and hopefully be hauling a wide load on North American highways soon.

We both like the look of the concept truck, the Volkswagen Robust, and think this would go over quite big in the U.S..
Our local dealer has said they will not be available here, but I think you should reconsider, and try it in the United States, with the growing popularity of Volkswagen overall here.
This truck REALLY needs to come to the US!!!
THEY…THE U.S.AND BIG OIL AND THE AUTOMAKERS DONT WANT A PICKUP THATS 4X4 WITH 30+ MPG RATING
I need a new truck now but I would loke to wait for the new VW. When will it be comming to North America?
Need a diesel engine and good towing capacity. Here in the US please.
Presently I drive a 2003 Subra Baja, small pick-up. I would like to see Volkswagen introduce the concept “Robust” smaller pick-up truck in the good old USA. There is a need for this type of small pick-up trucks for the American city people to make small loads for yard work, flowers, fertilizers, shurbs, haul away thrash and yard clippings. I am 71 years old and I would buy one in a second, I love a small truck to get around in, if they are made overseas, How can I order one???
Restfully,
Scott A. Fike, Sr.
I recently purchased a Volkswagen Passet, A very nice car with advanced engineering. Now comes the same advanced engineering and design 0f the 2008 Concept 2-seater truck, the Robust. I would purchase one of these trucks in a heart-beat only to find out VW is now making a (4) door truck ILO a (2) door truck, what a let down. VW, Wake-up, You have the right design with the (2) seater truck, that’s what the USA needs, not the same old truck that every else builds. Give us the (2) seater, or where can I buy the (2) seater concept car for myself.
Thank You,
Scott Fike
I would love love love for this vehicle to come to the US. I am currently looking for an extended cap/crew cab truck. It would be a hit here in the US.
We need to get that VW picp-up here in the US. What will it take to get it here?
