It’s become so popular that the auto maker will spawn convertible and coupe variants in 2014. This will only help VW’s pledge to become the world’s largest auto maker by 2018.

A new report indicates the next-gen Passat could spawn coupe and convertible variants. Details are limited, but the models would slot below the Audi A5 vehicles. The redesigned Passat is due in 2014, so we’ll see if VW follows up their idea of making a coupe model.
