The Force is strong with Volkswagen. And the German auto maker is sticking with the bright side as they return to the Super Bowl. During “The Big Game” – Super Bowl XLV (Feb. 6th – against the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers) you’ll catch two new spots from the car company.

Volkswagen of America will air two 30-second spots – one for the Passat, and one for the 2012 Beetle – which will run during the second and fourth quarters of the game.

The Passat commercial features a Star Wars theme, produced with the help of Lucasfilm Ltd., George Lucas’ production company. The spot will be accompanied by the “Imperial March” music from film composer John Williams. The ad shows a child dressed as Darth Vader, summoning The Force – which has been mistaken for an actual religion in the UK. And why not, Klingon is an official language.

The other ad for 2012′s VW Beetle features a black beetle who reigns supreme in the forest. The soundtrack includes a new rendition of the famed rock song “Black Betty” by Jon Spencer and the Blues Explosion.
