New Volkswagen Tiguan Eats Less Gas Than Its Older Bro
Volkswagen recently unveiled the 2008 Tiguan, a new crossover vehicle that will offer customers the off road benefits of an SUV without the fuel consumption of larger SUVs. This new vehicle is being referred to as the “little brother” of the Touareg but offers the handling, fuel efficiency and price of a sedan. This vehicle is Volkswagen’s attempt to step up to rival crossover vehicles already on the market including the RAV4, CR-V and Forester. The new diesel powered vehicle is expected to get 30 mpg which matches up well to these competitors.
VW will offer two different version of the model the 18 and 28. These numbers refers to the approach angle of the vehicle. Unfortunately, American shoppers will only see the Tiguan 18 at their local dealership due to the fact that only 1 and 10 take vehicles on the rugged back country that the 28 is designed for. Some of the Tiguan’s key features include a Turbo Diesel 2.0 liter engine pushing 140 hp, power windows/locks/mirrors, steering wheel stereo controls, power driver seat, keyless entry, digital climate control, alloy wheels and traction/stability control. The Tiguan is expected to cost $25,000.
